This Privacy Policy explains how ShiaDaily (“ShiaDaily,” “we,” “our,” or “the app”) handles information when you use the ShiaDaily iOS app, Android app, Apple Watch features, widgets, and related services.
Summary
ShiaDaily provides prayer times, Islamic calendar information, Quran content, duas, ziyarats, audio, Qibla tools, tasbih, reminders, and related features.
The app does not require you to create a ShiaDaily account. We do not sell personal information and do not use personal information for advertising profiling.
Some features are optional and may use your location, internet services, push notifications, cloud synchronization, Google Home, or in-app purchases.
Location Information
If you grant permission or manually provide a location, ShiaDaily may process approximate or precise location information.
Location is used for:
- calculating prayer times;
- determining Qibla direction;
- identifying or displaying a city;
- optional weather information; and
- location-based reminders or widgets that you choose to use.
Location permission is optional. You may deny or revoke location access through your device settings. Where supported, you may manually select a city instead of granting device-location permission.
Prayer calculations and Qibla calculations are performed on the device using the selected coordinates.
For optional weather features, the app may send selected latitude and longitude coordinates to weather providers, including Open-Meteo, over HTTPS. Those providers may process standard technical request information, such as IP address, device information, requested URL, and request time, according to their own privacy policies and terms.
ShiaDaily does not use location for advertising, cross-app tracking, profiling, or sale. We do not operate our own server that stores your location.
Content and Audio Network Requests
Some Quran recitations, duas, ziyarats, and other audio may be streamed or downloaded from the internet.
Depending on the audio source, requests may be sent to services such as EveryAyah, Cloudflare R2, and other hosting providers used to deliver audio files.
These services may receive standard technical information associated with an internet request, such as IP address, device information, user agent, requested file, and request time. We do not control the privacy practices of independent third-party hosting providers.
Where available, you may use bundled or downloaded content to reduce network requests.
Information Stored on Your Device
ShiaDaily stores information locally so that app features work. This may include prayer location and calculation settings, prayer-time adjustments, favorites, bookmarks, reading progress, Quran, dua and ziyarat preferences, tasbih and qadha-tracker data, reminders, notification preferences, calendar adjustments, custom occasions, display settings, language settings, widget preferences, and Google Home connection settings.
This information is generally stored on your device and is not automatically sent to ShiaDaily.
iCloud and Apple Watch
If you use the iOS app and enable iCloud-related features, selected preferences and progress may synchronize through Apple’s iCloud services. iCloud is operated by Apple and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy and your Apple ID settings. ShiaDaily cannot access the contents of your private iCloud storage.
If you use Apple Watch features, limited information may be transferred between your iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple system services such as WatchConnectivity. This supports complications, reminders, and synchronized information between your own devices.
Android Backup and Device Transfer
On Android, selected local app settings may be included in Android system backup or device-to-device transfer according to your Android, Google account, and device settings. These backups are controlled by Android and Google, not by ShiaDaily.
Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, ShiaDaily may use Apple Push Notification service or OneSignal to deliver reminders and other notifications.
Push-notification providers may process:
- a device or push-subscription identifier;
- app installation information;
- notification delivery information;
- notification opens or clicks; and
- basic technical and diagnostic information.
ShiaDaily does not send your prayer coordinates to OneSignal. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Optional Google Home Integration
If you choose to connect ShiaDaily to Google Home, the app uses Google Sign-In and Google Home services. This may involve your Google account email address, authentication information, connected-device information, scenes, rooms, and commands needed to operate the integration.
This feature is optional and is initiated by you. Google processes this information under its privacy policy and the permissions you grant. You can disconnect Google Home from within the app or through your Google account and Google Home settings.
Optional Purchases
The Android app may use Google Play Billing for optional purchases. Apple platforms may use Apple StoreKit for optional purchases.
Payment details are processed by Google Play or Apple. ShiaDaily does not receive or store your full payment-card details. ShiaDaily may receive purchase status, product information, transaction identifiers, and entitlement information needed to provide or restore a purchase.
Feedback
If you voluntarily submit feedback, ShiaDaily may send your feedback message, selected category, optional email address, app version, device model, operating-system version, and language or locale information.
Feedback is sent through Web3Forms and is used to review, respond to, and improve the app. Providing an email address is optional.
